Thorpe is talk of Town in cup win

FOOTBALL: FAILSWORTH Town under-14s earned an 8-3 victory over Urmston Meadowside Panthers in the Manchester FA Youth County Cup first round.

Cameron Thorpe scored five goals for Town, who had Jordan Pilkington, Ben McGrath and Daniel Farnworth to thank for the other strikes.


IN the County Cup, Chadderton Park under-14s beat Medlock Rangers 3-1 on penalties after the match finished 3-3 following extra time.
Dylan Melvin scored twice and Matty Nichols got the other goal.


HEYSIDE Juniors under-16s defeated Glossop North End 2-0 courtesy of Jordan Holt and Kyle Townsend efforts.
The under-12s Blues crashed out of the County Cup with a 5-0 loss to De La Salle.

Elsewhere, Heyside under-11s beat their Blues counterparts 3-0, with Sulamain Sajjad, Kai Whitney and Lewis Berry scoring.

Boundary Park Juniors lost 3-0 to Rochdale St Clements in the County Cup.

Ryan Knott, Tyler Cummings and Matt Leonard found the net for the under-14s in a 3-3 draw with Dukinfield Tigers.

The under-10s ‘A’ beat their ‘B’ team counterparts 3-1. Luke Smith, Dillon Whittingham and Billy Melia scored for the ‘A’ team, while Michael Turmeau was on target for the ‘B’ side.


CHARLIE Maslen pounced twice and Joe Connolly also scored as 3D Dynamos under-13s went down to a 4-3 defeat at the hands of West End in the Huddersfield and District Junior League.
But they bounced back with a 4-1 win over Battyeford thanks to goals from Tom Ireson, Harry Lavin, Ben Ford and Luke Midgeley.


OLDHAM Rangers under-15s Blues defeated Elton and Walshaw 4-0 in the North Bury League.
Andrew Badby, Ian Morris, Thomas Widdup and Danny Tindall found the net.

The under-11s Greens beat Whitworth Valley Warriors 5-4.

Jac Bromby got two goals, while Tom Walton, Ethan Cadd and Brandon Dronsfield were the other marksmen.


MATTHEW McCormack scored both goals as Broadway Celtic under-12s beat Whitefield Galaxy 2-1.
They also beat Clayton Villa ‘B’ 3-1 in the County Cup, with McCormack, Shea Roach and Patrick Laycock on target.



3D DYNAMOS roared to a comprehensive 9-0 victory at AFC Stanley in the East Manchester Junior League.
Sam Darke-Williams scored twice.

He was joined on the scoresheet by Kian Stewart, Devon Matthews, William Wright, George Walsh, Oli Sturge, Josh Reeves and Jordan Bailey as Dynamos swept aside their opponents.


RHEMA Mears twice found the net in ROCS FC under-18s’ 5-0 defeat of Heyside Angels in the Cheshire and Manchester Women’s League.
Megan Jackson, Shona Ninian and Angela Fox added the other goals.



ROCS under-16s were defeated 4-3 by MG Dons in the Tameside Sunday League.
David Clegg, Sean Cooper and Matty Lowe were on target for ROCS.



CHADDERTON FC Juniors under-13s drew 3-3 with Moston Juniors.
Ryan McConkie, Liam Hindley and Warren Howard were the marksmen for Chadderton in a topsy-turvy encounter.


JOE Linehan, Joe Fagan, Connor Green and Callum Viner were on the Heyside Juniors
under-13s scoresheet in a 4-3 win over Gamesley Villa.
They also beat Oxford Park 7-1 courtesy of a Josh Park hat-trick, and further efforts from Jordan Slattery, Bradley Adams, Bradley Legge and Keiron Thomasson.

The under-12s lost 8-2 to Walshaw Sports, with Corey Pearson and Owain Jones on target.

But they beat Boundary Park 5-1 when Tre Tayo Farrell notched a hat-trick, and Ronan Beckett and Joe Maw added further goals for Heyside.

CHADDY End under-16s saw off Heywood Rangers 3-1 thanks to a Michael Beresford double and a Matty Singleton strike.
