MARTIAL ARTS: KARATE kid Nathan Chan is getting a real kick out of the sport after defending a prestigious title.
He won the FEKO Open National Championships in Nottingham for the third year in a row.
All the more reason for the Hulme Grammar Schools pupil to be full of confidence ahead of the eagerly-anticipated World Karate Championships in Italy at the end of this month.
Nathan (11) will be competing in the KATA nine-to-12 years category on October 31.
Mum Judy said: “Nathan is confident of making an impact in Italy.
“We fly out on October 27 and it is very exciting. I am proud of his achievements.
“He is very modest and we don’t predict what the future holds.
“He just wants to carry on enjoying his karate and trying to go as far as he can in the sport.”
