RUGBY:

SADDLEWORTH Rangers under-16s produced a fine display to beat Latchford Albion Unicorn 40-4, and earn a place in the North-West Counties Cup final.

Man-of-the-match Ben White opened the scoring for Rangers and converted the try himself.

Latchford responded by picking up a fumbled ball and putting their only points of the game on the board.

Scott Booth crossed and Danny Richardson notched a converted try, before Ashley Webb touched down before the break.

Ryan Maneely’s converted effort extended the lead after the interval, prior to Ben White capping a fine team move to score and add extras.

Josh Bradbury teed up White for his hat-trick. White converted, to complete the scoring.

The under-15s defeated Rylands Sharks 24-4.

New signing Jack Johnson notched the first try, before Bradley Grantmyre touched down.

Dominic Elkin produced a hat-trick, while Dominic D’Adamo and Cameron Matthews added conversions.

The under-13s lost 28-4 to Newton Storm. The under-11s suffered a defeat to Leigh Miners and the under-10s produced their best performance of the season, despite narrowly losing 16-12 at Rylands.

OLDHAM St Anne’s under-12s suffered a 16-4 defeat at the hands of Pinkington Recs.

James Barran touched down after good work from Oliver Depetrillo.
