Weather is only winner

SNOW decimated the junior football and rugby league schedules.
Action wasn’t possible as the icy snap took a firm grip on the local fixture list.
Oldham under-15s, of the Greater Manchester Schools’ League, had been hoping to book their place in the last 16 of the ESFA Inter Association Trophy, with victory against York in the fourth round.
That match, like many others, was put on hold and the local lads will try once again this weekend to get the game played.
Oldham have fared well this season in the prestigious national knockout trophy.
So far they have enjoyed victories against Bradford and a strong Leeds side.
Defending champions Liverpool have home advantage against Copeland, while Salford go to Sefton and Manchester’s clash with Stockport.
Oldham under-14s have also been hampered by the recent bad weather, but they hope to return to league action this weekend when they travel to Wigan on Saturday (10.30am kick-off).
They have had mixed fortunes in the league so far this season with one win, one draw and two defeats to their name.
