RUGBY: OLDHAM St Anne’s under-13s roared through to the final of the Lancashire Cup courtesy of a 24-10 victory over Premier League leaders Blackbrook Royals.

Saints opened the scoring when Russell beat several opponents and went over.

Blackbrook hit back immediately to level matters but, just before the interval, McGinnity crossed in the corner to restore Saints’ four-point cushion.

Burgess travelled 40 yards before touching down to give the Oldham outfit the perfect start to the second half.

Blackbrook forced their way over the line to reduce the deficit, but Foley finished a good team move to make it 18-10 for Saints, with Russell adding extras.

Barnes rounded off the scoring with a clever dummy, and Russell again converted.

WATERHEAD under-14s earned a 32-0 triumph at the expense of Clockface.
Billy McDermott produced three tries, with Matty Jackson, Joe Chadderton and Jonny Aspin adding one each.

Aspin converted once, while Chadderton goaled on three occasions.

SADDLEWORTH Rangers under-16s clinched an 18-10 win at Rylands.
Scott Booth and Danny Lomax had early tries disallowed, for being in touch and short respectively, before Ben White fed Ryan Maneely, who put Rangers in front.

The second came shortly before the break when Lomax found Chris Bolton, who went over in the corner.

Rylands pulled six points back after the interval, but the visitors’ nerves were calmed when Josh Bradbury touched down.

Lewis Galbraith claimed Rangers’ final try, before their opponents grabbed a late consolation.
