Oldham set for acid test

FOOTBALL: OLDHAM under-15s face their toughest test of the season tonight when they take on Stockport in the ESFA Inter-Association Trophy fifth round at Cheadle Town (7.30pm kick-off). Tickets for the crucial clash cost £3 for adults, with £1 concessions.

A place in the quarter-finals awaits the winners. Should Oldham overcome Stockport, they will earn an away tie with against winners of Brierley Hill and Dudley versus Mid Oxfordshire.



PHOENIX Athletic under-13s roared to a 4-0 victory at Healey Rangers in the Rochdale and Oldham Sunday League. Cameron Reavey bagged a brace for Athletic. Brendan Cocker-Swanwick and Aaron Beckett did the rest of the damage.



CHADDERTON Park under-14s went down to a 3-0 loss at the hands of Kingsway.

The under-13s were beaten 3-0 by Springhead.

But there was better news for the under-11s, who defeated Littleborough 5-0.

JACK Bostock popped up with a last-gasp winner for Avro under-15s against Bolton BSS in the Manchester FA County Cup.

The match looked destined for a penalty shoot-out until Bostock pounced with 10 seconds remaining at Failsworth Soccer Centre.

Avro now progress to the quarter-finals.



AFC OLDHAM under-16s pipped South Manchester Sport 5-4 in the Tameside and District Junior League, courtesy of braces from Rhys Smith and Liam Ure, and a Dawid Komorek effort.



NORTH Manchester Girls’ League outfit ROCS under-14s won the Knockout Cup final 1-0 against Heyside Angels.

Leah Bickerstaffe hit the target for ROCS.

The under-16s won their Knockout Cup final 6-0 at the expense of Moston Juniors.

Lauren Steel got two goals, and was joined on the scoresheet by Megan Jackson, Shona Ninian, Courtney Hunter and Anna Moorhouse.

Uppermill under-15s edged out Oldham Athletic with a 1-0 win in the Knockout Cup.



CROMPTON Villa earned a 4-1 triumph at Prestwich Tigers in the Tameside Sunday League.

Josh Croll pounced twice for Villa, while Josh Dale and Ryan Hall were also on the mark.



ROCS under-16s defeated Manchester Maccabi 2-1 thanks to goals from Collins Sinju and Matthew Lowe.



CHADDERTON under-13s beat AFC Oldham 3-2. James Larty scored twice for Chadderton, for whom Ryan McConkie was also on target.



AVRO under-14s swept aside Chaddy End 14-0. Shearer and Ben Hulme scored four goals each, while Jack Homes and Matt Wilson both produced hat-tricks.

But the under-12s lost 4-3 to Delemere, with Nyal Platt, James Sloane and Kobey Shaw finding the net.



UPPERMILL under-13s beat Batley 4-0 in the Huddersfield Junior League, thanks to two Tom Bradnum strikes and further goals from Ben Pullen and Josh Barlow.
