Rhema hits hat-trick as ROCS clinch title

FOOTBALL: ROCS under-16s clinched the North Manchester Girls’ League title courtesy of a 6-1 triumph over Moston Juniors.

Rhema Mears scored a hat-trick, Angela Fox bagged two goals, and Megan Jackson also found the net.

The under-14s earned a 5-1 win at the expense of Uppermill.

Leah Bickerstaffe produced a treble, and Abby Bennett scored twice.



CHADDERTON Park under-11s beat Denton Lions 4-2, with Ella Leghorn bagging all four goals.
But the under-14s were defeated 3-2 by Heyside Angels Clarets.



OLDHAM Athletic suffered a 6-1 defeat at the hands of AFC Manchester, with Lauryn Oldham notching the consolation goal.


HEYSIDE Angels Clarets under-15s raced away to a 7-1 win against Oldham Athletic.
Taomi Hawksworth and Kelly Ward both scored hat-tricks, joining Shannon Ryan on the scoresheet.

In the same age group, the Angels Blues beat Chadderton Park 4-0 after a Danielle Partington double and goals from Pheobe Dunne and Sophie Montgomery.

Alix Sephton, Kinsa Hmami and Hayley Tomlinson were on target in the under-14s’ 3-2 triumph over Chadderton Park.

But the under-13s Angels Clarets were beaten 1-0 by Bury Girls.

There was better news for the under-13s Angels Inter, who put eight past Roach Dynamos without reply.

Two goals apiece from Ellie Doggett, Mia Holden and Tia Jackson did the damage, along with Emily Whitehead and Jade Hughes efforts. The under-11s swept aside Failsworth Villa 7-1.

Beth Boothroyd, Ashlin Miller and Katie Halligan scored two goals each, and Robyn Hartley completed the rout.



BOUNDARY Park under-11s edged out Chaddy End 2-1 in the Manchester Youth and Mini-Soccer League, thanks to goals from Harrison Marsh and Lewis Derbyshire. Tom Barlett replied for Chaddy End.


JACK Dunkerley scored three times in Heyside Juniors under-11s’ 4-0 victory against Clayton Villa. Lewis Berry was also on target.


JAMES Mounsey bagged a brace as 3D Dynamos under-13s beat Batley Phoenix 7-0 in the Huddersfield and District League. Also on target were Remi Morris, Dom Kerrison, Charlie Maslen, Joe Connolly and Tom Nuttall.


UPPERMILL under-17s beat Halifax Irish 1-0 in the Huddersfield Junior Cup thanks to a Luke Butler strike. The under-16s suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Glomerson and Cleckheaton.


3D DYNAMOS under-11s defeated Delamere 6-0 in the East Manchester Junior League Cup.
Oli Sturge notched two goals, and he was joined on the scoresheet by Sam Darke-Williams, William Wright, Sol Pegler and James Fish.
