NETBALL: OLDHAM Hulme Grammar School’s under-16s netball side have set their sights on taking the UK by storm.
The talented teenagers have won the North-West round of the National Schools’ competition and take on the country’s other top teams next month.
They hit the road to Southampton on March 19, when they go head-to-head with regional champions from across the UK.
Head of PE, Jo Knighton, said: “The girls feel as though they have a point to prove.
“When they were at under-14s level, they came third in the same competition.
“This time around, they have played brilliantly in the North-West rounds again, but want to take that extra step and be the best national side. “We are giving them a better chance of winning.
“Upcoming friendlies against an under-19s side in Preston and an open age Manchester University team will provide vital experience.”
