Rangers recovery

AMATEUR RUGBY: SADDLEWORTH Rangers under-16s held league leaders Orrell St James to an 8-8 draw.
Rangers have not played much rugby of late due to postponements, and were relieved the game was able to go ahead after it was switched to Shaw.
The hosts made a shaky start and knocked-on from the kick-off, gifting the ball to their opponents.
Despite Rangers’ protestations that Orrell also knocked-on, the visitors scored in the corner.
But Lewis Galbraith levelled matters for the Saddleworth side by sprinting over the line.
Orrell capitalised on a Rangers mistake and crossed.
But in reply, Scott Booth showed good handling to touch down after a fine team move.
It was a cagey affair in the latter stages, and neither side added to their tallies.
OLDHAM St Anne’s under-13s lost 36-0 to Haresfinch Hawks in the Lancashire Cup final, at Leigh Sports Village stadium.
