BUDDING green baize stars were on parade at the Oldham Snooker Academy for a regional tournament organised by the English Amateur Snooker Board.
The day-long event featured 26 players aged 19 or under, who first went head-to-head in a group stage before a straight knock-out format kicked in.
James Cahill (15), from Preston, was crowned the champion after a 2-1 win over Chester’s Richard Remellie in the final.
Oliver Lines, son of Leeds professional Peter, recorded the highest break on the day of 108.
Academy player Ryan Duffy reached the last 16, but club-mate Aaron Davies failed to qualify from his group.
