Angels’ delight at top spot

FOOTBALL:
HEYSIDE Angels Blues under-15s clinched the title after beating Uppermill 4-2 in the North Manchester Girls’ League.
Leoni Harland struck twice for Heyside, and was joined on the scoresheet by Sophie Montgomery and Phoebe Dunne.
In the same age group, the Angels Clarets defeated Rochdale 6-3 courtesy of Taomi Hawksworth and Shannon Ryan braces, and goals from Sarah Hardman and Charlotte Lancaster.
They also saw off Oldham Athletic 5-1, with Hawksworth and Kelly Ward both pouncing twice and Hardman adding another.
The under-14s Angels beat Uppermill ‘A’ 3-0 through Kinsa Hmami and Alix Sephton efforts, and an own goal.
They also swept aside Uppermill ‘B’ 14-0, thanks in no small part to Ella Milovanovic scoring six times and Ashleigh Dickenson bagging a double.
Also on the mark were Sephton, Hmami, Kate Moran, Byrony Bolton, Hayley Tomlinson and Nat Giblin.
Jade Hughes scored for the under-13s Angels Inter in their 2-1 loss to Curzon Ashton.
She was also in target in the 5-1 defeat of Uppermill, in which Ellie Doggett and Tia Jackson scored two goals apiece.
Staying in that age group, the Angels Clarets enjoyed a 4-0 triumph over Middleton Athletic, with Alicia Stretton at the double and Ashleigh Wylie and Sian Brady also netting.
Beth Boothroyd and Emily Kay were on target as the under-11s beat Moston Brook 2-0. In an 8-0 win over Glossop North End, Kay and Katie Halligan helped themselves to hat-tricks and Boothroyd scored twice.
ROCS under-16s defeated Uppermill 11-0, with five goals coming from Lauren Steel.
Also on target were Anna Moorhouse, Megan Jackson, Georgia Flynn, Shona Ninian, Rhema Mears and Jessica Tonge. Abby Bennett, Leah Bickerstaffe and Alys Wild struck for the under-14s in their 3-3 draw against Chadderton Park.
AVRO under-15s beat Barr Hill 3-2 in the Tameside Sunday League Cup first round. Kane Wallwork pounced twice, and was joined on the scoresheet by Jack Bostock.
FAILSWORTH Town under-15s defeated Northside 3-0 courtesy of goals from Tom Scullion, Cole De’ath and Jordan Mortimer.
CHADDERTON Juniors under-13s roared to a 19-5 triumph over Moston Valley. James Larty scored six goals, Ashley Hartley got five, while Jordan Mitchell notched a hat-trick. Stephen Golding and Michael Gill bagged braces, and Jack Hoyle mustered a solitary strike.
CROMPTON Villa under-14s beat Prestwich Tigers 3-2 courtesy of a Jack Johnson double and a Hayden Clarke goal.
