Oldham clinch last-four place

OLDHAM under-15s reached the semi-finals of the Greater Manchester Schools’ Woodhead Cup courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Trafford at Ashton-on-Mersey School.
Ben Turner (North Chadderton) broke the deadlock after the interval, and Tom Scullion (Failsworth) doubled the lead with 25 minutes remaining.
Oldham face the winners of Bury v Bolton in the semi-finals.
On Saturday Oldham travel to Warrington for the first round of the North-West Alder Owen Trophy (10.30am kick-off).
HEYSIDE under-11s beat Chaddy End 6-0 in the Manchester Youth and Mini-Soccer League.
Jack Dunkerley, Kai Whitney and Adam Dunkerley all produced braces.
OLDHAM Rangers under-15s beat Middleton 4-0 through a Daniel Tindal double and goals from Tasham Tomlin and Ian Morris.
CHADDERTON Juniors under-13s saw off Hyde United Tigers 4-2 in the Tameside and District Junior League. On the mark were Luke Jones, Julius Chike, Warren Howard and Ashley Hartley.
CROMPTON Villa under-14s lost 4-3 to Clayton Villa.
Hayden Clarke and Ryan Hall netted for Crompton, whose opponents also
conceded an own goal.
HEYSIDE Juniors under-14s swept aside Denton Yellows 6-1.
On target were Sam Coup, Adam Constable, Lucas Foster-Jones, James Mellor and Hayden Clarke. Denton also conceded an own goal. Kyle Robinson and George Riley added two goals apiece.
CHAMPIONS ROCS under-14s beat Uppermill 2-0 through Abby Bennett and Reagan Steenson strikes, in the North Manchester Girls’ League.
They also defeated Droylsden 7-1 after two goals apiece from Bennett and Leah Bickerstaffe, and further efforts courtesy of Alys Wild, Ashleigh Spragg and Steenson.
The under-16s beat Heyside Angels Clarets 5-1, with braces from Shona Ninian and Georgia Flynn.
Megan Jackson also scored.
HEYSIDE Angels Clarets under-15s beat the Angels Blues 2-0 through a Kelly Ward double.
The under-13s Inter defeated Middleton 3-1 after an Ellie Doggett brace and Tanisha Williams’ goal, while the Clarets saw off Roach Dynamos 4-0.
Sian Brady struck twice. Also on the mark were Alicia Stretton and Rachael Johnson.
