THREE Oldham youngsters helped Lancashire lift the 2010-11 BARLA under-17s counties tri-series.
Brandon Meanock, Ben Jackson and Jonathan Folds, from Waterhead RL Club, put in dazzling displays to help the county team overcome counterparts from Yorkshire and Cumbria.
The first game of the series, played at St Anne’s in Yorkshire, ended with a comprehensive 28-4 victory for Lancashire.
Unfortunately, Folds broke a cheekbone for the follow up against Cumbria, but the Red Rose side still came out on top 20-18.
Waterhead assistant coach Steven Jackson said: "All three of the lads were absolutely outstanding against Yorkshire, and the two lads who played against Cumbria played brilliantly as well."
Seven of last year's Waterhead under-17s have recently joined Super League clubs on youth scholarships.
Leeds Rhinos and Huddersfied Giants are among the recipients, with Jackson also reserving special praise for England under-18s captain Daniel Yates, who has signed for St Helens.
Due to success of the ‘class of 2010’, the club’s under-18s are now looking for new players.
