Temple is head boy for Shaw

CRICKET: ADAM Temple’s half-century put Shaw under-17s on course for a convincing win against Stayley in the Saddleworth and District Cricket League.
Temple and co. posted 162 for four before their opponents ended their overs 70 runs short of their target, for the loss of seven wickets.
Replying to Friarmere’s 89 for seven, Ashton continued their winning form by sealing victory with six wickets in hand.
Micklehurst mustered 99 for six against Heyside, who cruised to their goal without loss.
Matthew Parkinson contributed 52 towards Glodwick’s 90 for three, after opponents Saddleworth ‘A’ had recorded 88 for five.
Austerlands dismissed Bamford for 59 prior to reaching their winning total at the expense of a solitary wicket.
Uppermill made 55 for six, only for opponents Saddleworth ‘B’ to earn a five-wicket triumph.
Under-15s actions saw Bamford Fieldhouse enjoy a nine-wicket home win at the expense of Saddleworth ‘A’, for whom Ben Corbett made 29 in the Group Two clash.
Bamford’s Joe Smith-Butler impressed with bowling figures of 5-1-9-4, and followed them with 28 runs as his side reached their target of 58, losing just one wicket in the process.
Greenfield managed 168 for five, thanks in no small part to half-centuries from Liam Parfitt and S Fitton, before bowling out opponents Royton for 114.
In Group One, Saddleworth ‘B’ were restricted to 103 for four by visitors Droylsden, who reached their target with seven wickets in hand, Robert Chicchirillo producing an undefeated 48.
Austerlands moved to the summit after a win against Stayley, who ended on 78 for seven (Nick Woodhead 32). Yoshi Tariq claimed four for 23.
In reply, Austerlands took 11 overs to earn victory, for the loss of four wickets.
