SWIMMING: CROMPTON House were riding the crest of a wave at the Oldham Schools Swimming Championships.

The boys and girls teams dominated the competition and claimed the overall titles.

Crompton girls won the Year Seven, Eight and 10-11s divisions, as well as the Brown Shield, which is a sprint relay for different year groups.

The school’s boys’ team proved a hit in the water, with the Year Sevens and 10-11s emerging victorious.

They also broke the record in the Year 10-11s squadron relay — the race is made up of backstroke, freestyle, butterfly and breaststroke legs — in a time of one minute 15.17 seconds.

In the quest for the boys title, Radclyffe won Year Seven and Oasis Academy (Roman Road Campus) clinched Year Eight honours.
