Composure key to victory

NETBALL: OLDHAM under-14s dominated the Ribble Valley tournament and showed composure in a tight final.

They beat hosts Ribble Valley ‘A’ 9-6 to clinch the silverware.

It came after group stage victories over Blackpool (10-2) and Ribble Valley ‘B’, Tameside, Bury ‘B’, Yendies and Trafford ‘A’, with 56 goals flying in and only 12 conceded.

Oldham headed into a semi-final clash with Bury ‘A’ and roared to an 11-2 triumph.

The under-12s, 15s and 16s also won their categories.
