Skipper nets in final triumph

FOOTBALL: CHEERED on by a large contingent of their classmates, hosts Hulme Grammar School defeated Crompton House 4-1 in the under-15s final of the Oldham Schools Knock-out Cup.
On target for Hulme were skipper Obe Ebizie, Jack Flanagan, Adam Wilks and Jack Nutter, who converted a late penalty.
Crompton House’s consolation strike was not going to prevent the home team from earning a comprehensive victory.
The school’s football teacher, Andy Marshall, praised the efforts of both teams.
He said: “The final was keenly contested in good spirit, despite the rivalry that exists between the two sides, but the best team won.
“We are delighted to have claimed the cup, especially as we hosted the event.”
