Cricket: HEYSIDE under-15s’ Lewis Bardsley claimed four wickets from five deliveries — including a hat-trick — as his side earned a Saddleworth and District League Group One victory at Glodwick.
The hosts were bowled out for 44 before Heyside earned a five-wicket win.
Austerlands v Saddleworth ‘B’, Saddleworth v Austerlands and Moorside ‘A’ v Uppermill were abandoned due to heavy rain.
In the only Group Two game, Shaw recorded 77 for nine against Saddleworth ‘B’, who won by three wickets.
In the under-17s section, Saddleworth ‘B’ finished three runs short of opponents Bamford Fieldhouse’s 100 for six.
Heyside dismissed Saddleworth ‘A’ for 57 and knocked off the runs without loss.
Stayley, replying to high-flying Ashton’s 94 for five, were eight runs shy of their goal when they ran out of overs.
