RUGBY: LYNDHURST Primary proved they are on the ball by clinching victory in the tag rugby cluster tournament at Hathershaw Technology and Sports College.
They edged out Broadfield 22-18 in an enthralling final. St Martins, Holy Rosary, Greenhill and Medlock Valley also took part, before falling short in the group stage.
All participants were aged between 10 and 11 years.
Organiser Lorna Philip said: “We like to run this tournament every year because it is a chance to showcase local talent.
“This one was no exception. We saw plenty of very good players and will recommend the best to local clubs.
“Hopefully they can go on and achieve success.”
Lyndhurst’s triumph saw them go on to compete in the annual Oldham Borough Games, which they also won.
