SELFLESS teenagers Tom Noakes and Kelsie Saville are making a name for themselves in the volunteering world.

The duo, both 16-years-old, dedicate hours of spare time every week to introduce young children to new sports and encourage regular physical activity. They also run holiday activities at Royton and Crompton School.

Their summer got off to a super start when they were jointly awarded the Young Volunteer of the Year gong at the Oldham Sports Awards.

Simon Tait, of Oldham Council’s youth sports development team, said: “Tom and Kelsie work extremely hard. They have been volunteering for three years.

“They give up many hours each week to support activities for young children because they believe it is important to raise awareness about the benefits of exercise.

“They are involved in various sessions, from athletics to dance, to netball.”

Tom and Kelsie’s activities at Royton and Crompton School run from Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm.
