CRICKET: ROYTON under-13s won the Central Lancashire League Division ‘A’ title following a play-off title victory at Milnrow.
The two teams finished on 36 points with identical records, leading to the one-off decider.
Batting first, Royton roared to 114 for one, with Aaron Tesz retiring on an unbeaten 26 and Jack Snape following suit with 25 to his name.
The Paddock outfit put Milnrow under pressure at the start of their reply, and Tesz enjoyed a return of three for eight.
The Ladyhouse batsmen battled away and were up on the run rate midway through their innings, but William Sandiford-Mitchell claimed three for 13 to help remove Milnrow’s middle order.
Adam Boardman chipped in with two for 26 before a smart run-out from Harrison Snape and first-ball strike courtesy of Joe Thompson clinched title delight as the hosts were dismissed for 72.
