The CLL under-17s will play the Palace Shield in a friendly at Rochdale CC on Sunday, September 18 (noon). Werneth wicketkeeper Robert Shaw is in the CLL squad.
And on the same day, starting at 1pm, the CLL 2nd XI take on the Bolton League seconds in an annual friendly match at Farnworth CC.
Shaw thing: Saddleworth skipper Will Wilson and Shaw counterpart Ellis Forshaw hold the Saddleworth and District League Under-13s Cup ahead of the eagerly-anticipated final, which hosts Shaw won.
After winning the toss Forshaw elected to bat and made 25, while Usman Wazir posted 27 not out to help Shaw reach 114 for four. Daniel Poole led the Saddleworth resistance, retiring on 30 not out, but they were seven runs short of their goal when they ran out of overs, having lost six wickets.

OLDHAM schools under-11s beat Salford by nine wickets in a challenge game at Roe Green.
Joe Rimmer (Royton) claimed two for seven and Jake Gartside (Moorside) two for 14 as they dismissed their opponents for 82.
In reply Oldham sailed past their target. Matthew Barlow (Greenfield) led the way with an unbeaten 47, while Sam Brookes (Woodhouses) chipped in with 18 not out.
