MOTOR SPORT: SHAW racer Alex Walker put in a solid performance to claim 10th place in his second outing in the Certina Formula Renault 2.0 UK Championship.

The 16-year-old, representing Fortec Motorsport, mixed it with much more experienced competitors at Brands Hatch. It came hot on the heels of his second-place finish in the InterSteps Championship

Motorsport standings following an impressive debut season.

Walker is hoping to graduate permanently to Formula Renault next season.

He said: “Having the opportunity to race at Brands Hatch has been beneficial and it has given me a insight with to what to expect.

“The level of competition is very high.”
