Rangers finally off the mark

RUGBY:
SADDLEWORTH Rangers under-14s claimed their first victory of the season by edging out Thatto Heath 12-10 at Shaw Hall Bank Road.
After 10 tense minutes, Rangers skipper Harry Aaronson intercepted the ball and ran the full length of the pitch to put down under the posts.
Determined tackling from Dan Holmes and George Vick frustrated Thatto, but the visitors broke through just before half-time and touched down. And Thatto drew first blood after the restart with a converted try.
To their credit, the hosts responded well when Sam Hart got on the end of a Dan King kick and went over down the left. Man-of-the-match King calmly goaled to clinch the win.
