FOOTBALL:
A SCHOOLBOY has set his sights on becoming a man in the middle.
And North Chadderton School pupil Kyle Robinson has already made a flourishing start to his career as a referee.
The 14 year old officiates at Chadderton Juniors’ Sunday soccer school at Bare Trees after the club offered to pay for his refereeing course with the Manchester County FA. Kyle also takes charge of games in the Tameside and District Junior League.
Dad Micky, an avid Manchester City supporter, said: “All too often referees get a load of stick, but he is keen to cut his teeth in what can be a harsh job and perform it to the best of his ability.
“Human nature dictates that he will now always have to get every decision right, but he will try his level best.
“I just hope he sticks at it — but more importantly, he continues to enjoy it. He is only too happy to repay Chadderton Juniors for their support by refereeing at their soccer school. It is a win-win situation.”
