High-fives for Wade in defeat
Date published: 30 November 2011
RUGBY:
RYAN Wade scored five tries for Higginshaw under-11s but they were edged out 24-22 by Wigan St Judes, who made a flying start and were over the line within minutes.
Wade soon replied, collecting Mason Broxton’s long kick and touching down. Trafford Firth and Alfie Barker defended strongly in a bid to resist the St Judes response, while Tyrell Walcott and Tom Rogers also impressed.
Wade added four more tries in the second half but they were not converted, and St Judes capitalised to clinch the closest of triumphs. Firth was named man of the match and Aiden Lee Buckley was top tackler for Higgy.
