EIGHT Heyside Angels teams reached the North Manchester Girls’ League Knock-out Cup final in their respective age groups.
The under-16s Angels Blues beat Angels Clarets 3-2 courtesy of a Leoni Harland brace and Sophie Montgomery’s effort, with Kelly Ward (two) replying for Clarets. The under-14s swept aside Failsworth Dynamos 8-2 thanks to two strikes apiece from Alicia Stretton and Ashleigh Wylie and further goals from Katie McKeown, Emily Davies, Sian Brady and Tanisha Williams.
Under-13s action saw Angels Blues beat Hilgate 8-1, with Karis Milnes and Emily Pennells getting
hat-tricks and Antonia Keogh and Izzy Whittle completing the rout.
The Angels Navys edged out Curzon Ashton 5-3 following four Tia Jackson efforts and a Lavina Whitehead goal.
Beth Boothroyd’s double handed the under-12s a 2-0 victory over Failsworth Villa.
And the under-11s defeated Denton 3-2 through goals from Ellie Marshall, Lucy Hargreaves and Caitlin Lord.
