Line up for some fun!

FUN was the name of the game as six schools battled it out in the Radclyffe School Year Four girls’ lineball festival.
St Anne’s (Royton) won the round-robin competition, finishing five points clear of runners-up Bare Trees. St Luke’s, Mills Hill, Christ Church and Chadderton Hall also took part.
Nina Goddard, head of girls’ PE at Radclyffe School, said: “This was a fantastic opportunity to bring together girls from different primary schools to compete as part of a team. All the girls played well together in the spirit of the game.”
Lineball is like softball, except there is no base running. The ball is thrown by a team-mate and the player with the bat hits the ball into the field of play. If the ball lands past the line and between the foul lines, the batter gets a ‘hit’. If three hits are achieved before three ‘outs’, the batting team get a run.
