Angels in cup delight

FOOTBALL:
ON-SONG Heyside Angels dominated the North Manchester Girls’ League Knock-out Cup finals, with five of their teams clinching the silverware and three others taking the runners-up spot.
Their under-16s Blues defeated Oldham Athletic 2-1 after extra-time thanks to Natalie Gregory and Amelia Garlick efforts.
ROCS won the under-15s final after a 2-0 victory over Heyside Angels Clarets. Both goals arrived in extra-time courtesy of Georgia Anwas and Abby Bennett.
Heyside Angels Clarets under-14s won 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw with Curzon Ashton, in which Annais Morris netted.
FAILSWORTH Sports College Year Sevens are flying the flag for Oldham in the sixth round of the ESFA National Knock-out Cup. Coached by ex-Athletic striker David McNiven, they strolled through to a January showdown at Meadowhead School (Sheffield) after an 8-1 win against St Wilfrids (Wakefield).
