FAILSWORTH Sports College have a double reason to celebrate at the start of 2012, with two of their teams having battled through to the last-32 of the English Schools’ Football Association national knockout competitions.
The Year Sevens travel to Meadowhead School (Sheffield) in the ESFA Under-12 Danone Nations Schools’ Cup.
And the Year Eights entertain Sacred Heart Catholic College (Sefton) in the Under-13 Schools’ Cup.
Both ties take place on or before Saturday, January 14, with the draw for the next round pencilled in for January 16.
Cardinal Heenan Sports College (Liverpool) are holders in both age categories and are still going strong, with the Year Sevens up against Trinity CE High School (Manchester) and the Year Eights facing Walkden High School (Salford).
Failsworth will be keen to avoid Cardinal Heenan.
