THREE OF A KIND: teenagers Jack Kilgannon (left), Danny Wright and Zach Hall enjoyed medal success in Poland.
BOXING:
A TALENTED trio of 15-year-old boxers from Ben Lancaster’s Boarshaw stable impressed at the Box Cup in Poland.
Danny Wright beat the host nation’s reigning champion in the 63kg category to clinch a gold medal and the Best Boxer trophy, and in the same section Zach Hall took silver.
Jack Kilgannon claimed gold for his efforts in the 60kg group.
Lancaster said: “We like going over to events in Poland and try to get there at least twice a year.
“The event was spread over two days so it gave myself and the three lads an opportunity to train in the local clubs’ gyms and see how they do it.
“They really enjoyed the experience and for me it was useful to get an insight into different training methods.
“All three of the lads performed very well and I was delighted to see Danny named best boxer.”
