Schools secure coveted finals spot

CROMPTON House boys and Newman College girls will compete at the Greater Manchester finals on February 9 after winning the Oldham Schools’ Indoor Athletics Championships.
Crompton edged it ahead of runners-up Royton and Crompton and third-placed Failsworth Sports College.
Royton and Crompton also finished second in the girls’ category. North Chadderton were third but would have won had the relay baton not been dropped.
