Rangers start with a victory

RUGBY:
SADDLEWORTH Rangers under-16s opened their North-West Counties Premier League campaign with a fine 24-16 win at Langworthy Reds.
The visitors made a flying start, with Cameron Robertson crossing twice in the first 15 minutes, set up by Joe Harrison-Brown on both occasions.
Slack defending allowed the home outfit to touch down before Jack Johnson went over for Rangers and Dom D’Adamo added the extras to hand his side a 14-4 half-time lead.
Langworthy scored a try soon after the restart, only for Johnson to grab his second of the game and Jed Mawdsley to get in on the act. A late Langworthy try proved to be a consolation.
