Manager hunt set to continue

Schools football:
DISTRICT football in Oldham would appear to be struggling.
For the first time in memory, the borough was unable to field any representative teams this season at schoolboy level due to the failure to secure a team manager, despite repeated attempts by Oldham district secretary, John Noble.
Oldham seasonally fields three teams at under-11, under-14 and under-15 age groups to compete in the
Greater Manchester Schools’ League against county stalwarts such as Salford, Manchester and Bolton.
From that, players are selected to represent the county, and beyond that the possibility of pulling on an England shirt.
It is likely that local schoolboys will once again miss out on that opportunity unless a manager is found to take the helm in time for the next campaign. Noble will no doubt be starting his search over the next few months for a teacher or two from the area to run the district sides’ for the 2012-13 season and anybody who is interested should email Nicky Horn at nicky@leesnet.net
