TABLE TENNIS:
HOSTS Hulme Grammar swept aside all before them in the Year Sevens and Eights Oldham Schools Table Tennis Championships to earn a place in the Greater Manchester Games.
With 10 teams taking part from seven schools, competition was tough, but such was Hulme’s dominance that their ‘A’ and ‘B’ sides went head to head in the final.
And it was the Hulme ‘A’, comprising of Rohan Srivastava, Adam Boardman, Jonas Bierhoff and William Lamb, who came out on top 3-1.
The teams were split into three pools, with the top team and best runner-up progressing to the semi-finals.
Hulme ‘A’ strolled through their group unbeaten, with victories over Radclyffe and Royton and Compton ‘B’ securing top spot.
The school’s ‘B’ side were also untroubled in their section, defeating Oasis 3-1 and Royton and Crompton 4-0 to book their place in the last four.
