CRICKET: IT is as you were at the top of the Saddleworth and District League as the three joint under-15s leaders enjoyed victories.
In-form Bamford Fieldhouse beat Glodwick at Warren Lane after posting 99 for five and dismissing their opponents for 32.
Chasing 98 at home to Heyside, Royton’s Aaron Tesz made 49 not out and Jack Snape 43 not out to help their side to a nine-wicket win.
Greenfield edged to a narrow success at Moorside. Batting first, they recorded 92 for five,
In reply, Harrison Lees claimed three for 10 in five overs to restrict the hosts to 86 for seven.
After restricting Saddleworth ‘A’ to 84 for eight, Micklehurst reached their goal with five wickets to spare.
In the under-17s category, Harry Ripley took five for 20 for Austerlands, who dismissed Uppermill for 64 before winning by seven wickets.
Ben Corbett’s 50 (retired) helped Saddleworth to 130 for one and they finished the job by restricting Stayley to 93 for six.
Moorside mustered 113 for three against Micklehurst. Micklehurst, eight wickets down, were still 50 runs shy of their target when the overs ran out.
Shaw raced to 128 for four and kept Greenfield at 115 for eight.
