GREENFIELD under-17s booked their place in the Romida Trophy final after getting the better of Moorside in a low-scoring contest.
After being bowled out for 88, Greenfield dismissed their opponents for 48. They will face Saddleworth or Ashton in the final.
League action saw Micklehurst earn a six-wicket triumph after taking all of Uppermill’s wickets for 98, despite Daniel Jones’ knock of 40.
Saddleworth roared to 118 for six (Ben Corbett 49, Simon Hardy 41 ) before restricting Glodwick to 98 for five.
Ashton’s clash with Moorside and Friarmere versus Austerlands were abandoned due to waterlogged pitches.
No under-15s action was possible
THE season ended prematurely for all three Oldham district teams, with none making it past the league stages of the Lancashire Schools’ Cricket Association competitions.
Wet weather played a major part in Oldham’s failure to advance to the knock-out stages.
Oldham under-15s made a promising start with a three-wicket triumph over Bolton in the opening Merit League game. But a number of postponements in June left them short of points.
The under-11s completed three of their league fixtures, but an indifferent start left them floundering.
