Dominant display in schools championships
CROMPTON House made the grade after a string of dazzling displays in the Oldham Schools Athletics Championships track events.
Demonstrating unstoppable form, they claimed first place in the boys and girls sections at Radclyffe School.
In the boys category, they came out on top in the Year 10 group, finished second in Year Seven, third in Year Eight and fourth in Year Nine to muster a haul of 111 points.
Saddleworth followed with 91 points, while Waterhead Academy finished on 80 points.
Crompton House’s first place finishes came in Year 10 100 metres, Year Eight 800m, Years Seven and 10 1,500m, Year 10 relay and Years Seven and 10 hurdles. Crompton House girls topped the Year Seven, Nine and 10 sections and finished joint second with Oasis Academy in Year Eight.
They clocked up a superb final tally of 131 points, with Saddleworth their closest opponents in second on 79 points and Newman College and Bluecoat joint third.
Crompton House girls stormed to victory in the 100m (Year Seven), 200m (Year Seven) 800m (Year 10), 1,500m (Years Eight and 10), relay (Years Seven, Nine and 10) and hurdles (Year 10).
