ROUNDERS: PUPILS from St Paul’s Primary School in Royton were proud to represent Greater Manchester in the finals of a national rounders competition.
The youngsters, from Years Four, Five and Six, travelled to Corby in Northamptonshire to pit their talents against the best in the country.
And despite losing both pool games to schools from South Yorkshire and Essex — they were beaten by half-a-rounder in one of the matches — the team enjoyed the experience.
They qualified for the nationals after giving their rivals the run-around in the Greater Manchester Summer School Games, in which they beat RL Hughes Primary School (Ashton-in-Makerfield) in the final.
