Leaders cruise to home victory

CRICKET:

LEADERS Greenfield under-15s enjoyed a 145-run win at home to Stalybridge SP in the Saddleworth and District Cricket League.

Oliver Higgins (53) and Sam Fitton (50) helped the hosts to 182 for two, and they restricted the away outfit to 37 for nine.

Saddleworth ‘A’ kept Moorside to 100 for three before winning by eight wickets.

Micklehurst skittled visitors Droylsden for 31 and cruised home.

ASHTON are under-17s champions with one game remaining.

Charlie Price made 50 as Moorside reached 132 for three and restricted Uppermill to 97 for five.

Micklehurst bowled out Friarmere for 67 and won by six wickets, while Greenfield comfortably reached their target of 107 against Saddleworth.
