Lancs call-up for Olivia

TEENAGE star Olivia McCusker took a giant step in her burgeoning cricketing career when she played for the Lancashire women’s first team against Holland at Monton and Weaste CC.
The 16 year old of Atherley Grove, Chadderton, was expected play a small role — but her bowling figures impressed the first team coach. Also due in the team was Heywood’s Katy Cross..
Olivia, who joined Middleton Cricket Club three years ago, has played three times for the Lancashire under-17s women’s team.
In her first game, against Derbyshire in Chesterfield, Olivia bowled eight overs; took a wicket for 27 runs and a catch. Lancashire won by 26 runs.
In her second game, at Nelson CC against Durham, Olivia bowled three overs and had one maiden, taking two wickets for two runs, as well as a catch from the field. Lancashire won by eight wickets.
Against Yorkshire at Unsworth, Olivia bowled nine overs and claimed three wickets for eight runs, to help secure Lancashire’s first win over their historic rivals.
