HANDBALL:
ROYTON and Crompton girls did their town proud by roaring to victory in the Greater Manchester School Games.
Representing Oldham in handball, the Year Sevens and Eights saw off the challenge of other North-West schools to take top spot. And to make their success even sweeter, they did it on the big stage — Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.
Their appearance in the Games was made possible by a superb showing in the qualifying event at their Ball Hall.
They got the better of opponents Radclyffe and Failsworth to set up their trip to the Etihad.
