Colts miss final place

CRICKET: DEFEAT in their final group game saw the Saddleworth and District Cricket League’s under-18s miss out on a place in the Inter-League Colts final.
Andrew Cadd’s side did the hard part by dismissing the Manchester Association for 121 at Whalley CC.
Michael Lockett, his skipper’s club team-mate at Austerlands, took three for 22 from his eight overs.
But the Saddleworth League produced another dismal display with the bat as they were bowled out for just 45.
They managed only 51 against the Bolton League in the second group match last month, this after getting the better of the Lancashire County League in June’s opener.
