RISING star Nathan Jones was the
leading wicket-taker as the Lancashire under-13s development squad won a tournament at Brighton College.
The new team set-up was introduced this year in the hope of helping players who narrowly missed out on the representative squad to hone their skills in time for the next campaign.
Nathan and co. made their way to Brighton for a week-long festival organised by Sussex, where they played four matches.
Nathan claimed nine wickets over the four fixtures, including a superb return of three for 21 in the final against Buckinghamshire, in which the Red Rose outfit prevailed.
Nathan plays for the Delph club, where dad Grant is captain of the senior side.
Grant said: “Nathan was brilliant throughout the competition in Brighton — I am pleased for him.
“He put in the hard work and it paid off.’
