HANDBALL:
REGULAR handball coaching comes to Oldham next week.
The North-East Manchester Hawks are holding Monday sessions at Royton and Crompton School, Blackshaw Lane, from September 10 (6-7pm for under-16s and 7-9pm for under-18s and open age).
The club, crowned national boys and girls’ champions at under-18 level last season, have previously done all their training in Heywood.
But head coach Donna Hankinson explained: “We have several players from the Oldham area and we are keen to tap into some excellent work being done to promote handball in schools around the town.
“The sport was a big hit on TV at the London 2012 Olympics and we want to give people of all ages the opportunity to give handball a try.”
For information, call Donna on 07710 331396 or email donna@turner-bianca.com or just turn up on the night.
