Young snooker star Joshua Cooper has come within a whisker of landing a regional title.
The 16 year old Newman College student reached the final of an under-18s tournament in Swinton - in which he faced England junior player Brandon Sargeant.
The five-frame contest went to the wire before his Stoke-based opponent - rated one of the brightest young talents in the game - won 3-2. Joshua recorded a break of 44.
