ATHLETICS: CHRISTOPHER Brown took inspiration from Olympic champion and idol Mo Farah in action before clinching second spot in the Great North Junior Run.
The 14 year old Crompton House school student from Royton crossed the line in 13 minutes, 35 seconds in sweltering conditions.
Mum Deborah said: “Christopher had watched Mo Farah win the two-mile race earlier, so that inspired him to give it his all. He was very pleased with his performance.
“The weather was fantastic and, as always, the atmosphere was absolutely buzzing.”
It was the latest in a string of impressive displays for Chris: last month he ran a personal best 39.15 seconds in the 300m at the national championships.
