King is the star for Rangers

RUGBY:
SADDLEWORTH Rangers under-14s showed plenty of character to earn a 20-16 victory over Chorley Panthers.
Casual defending led to Chorley taking an early lead, but boy-of-the-match Dan King restored parity with a well-timed run through the middle, and it remained 4-4 at the interval.
Determined tackling by Sam Hart and Aaron Bishop gave Rangers the initiative during the early stages of the second half.
Ali Hassan then scored an excellent try, driving from 10 yards out and putting down in fine style before King added the extras.
Chorley hit back superbly after more hesitancy in the Saddleworth defence, and they levelled matters to set up a grandstand finish.
Rangers moved back in front through Archie Taylor’s touch down prior to Chorley crashing over almost instantly.
But a superb interception from Hart followed by a 40-yard dash saw the Saddleworth outfit regain the lead, and this time they held on.
