Angels wing it in thrilling encounter

FOOTBALL: A NINE-GOAL thriller in the North Manchester Girls’ League saw Heyside Angels Blues under-16s edge out Uppermill ‘A’ 5-4.
Leoni Harland struck twice, and was joined on the scoresheet by Ella Milavanovic, Hayley Fielding and Bryony Bolton.
They also won 12-0 against Uppermill ‘B’, with Harland notching five goals and Alix Sephton adding three.
The rest of the damage was inflicted by Milavanovic, Kimsa Hmami, Bolton and Phoebe Dunne.
In the same age category, Heyside Angels Metz swept aside Uppermill ‘B’ 11-1, with Ashleigh Wylie pouncing five times.
Two goals each from Katie Newton, Sian Brady and Tanisha Williams finished the job.
Metz under-15s saw off Denton 13-0 after another five goals from Wylie and four from Brady.
Newton, Williams, Tilly Afleck and Alicia Stretton also scored.
Heyside Angels Inter under-15s beat Uppermill 10-1 courtesy of Tia Jackson’s treble and two goals apiece from Lavinia Whitehead, Emily Whitehead and Jade Hughes. But they lost 3-1 to Middleton, Emily Whitehead on the mark for Heyside.
ROCS under-16s beat Uppermill 6-1 in a game which saw Abby Bennett plunder four goals and Leah Bickerstaffe add two. Katie Molloy got the consolation.
