Bennett blasts hat-trick

FOOTBALL:

ROCS under-16s saw off Heyside Angels Blues 4-1 in the North Manchester Girls’ League.

An Abby Bennett hat-trick and Leah Bickerstaffe’s goal took ROCS three points clear at the top of the table.

Alix Sephton popped up with Heyside’s solitary strike.

In the same age category, Heyside Angels Metz under-16s defeated Stockport ROCS 7-1, with Katie Newton and Sian Brady bagging three goals apiece.

Tanisha Williams completed the rout, while Vicki Brown responded for ROCS.

Lavinia Whitehead’s brace secured a 2-0 win for Heyside Angels Inter at the expense of Curzon Ashton.

The Metz under-15s swept aside Urmston Meadowside 9-2, with Newton notching a hat-trick and Tilly Afleck and Brady adding two goals apiece. Alicia Stretton and Williams put the icing on the cake.



UPPERMILL Rockettes beat Uppermill Blues 7-0. The under-15s drew 2-2 with Failsworth Dynamos, Caitlin Hall and Amy Platt on the mark.
